RESTAURANT BRANDS INTERNATIONAL INC. $43 – New York symbol QSR

RESTAURANT BRANDS INTERNATIONAL INC. $43 (www. rbi.com) earned $0.30 a share in the three months ended June 30, 2015, up 25.0% from $0.24 a year earlier. These figures exclude costs related to Burger King Worldwide’s December 2014 acquisition of Tim Hortons. Overall sales fell 1.6%, to $1.04 billion from $1.06 billion, mainly because the high U.S. dollar hurt the value of the company’s foreign sales. However, successful new menu items increased same-store sales by 5.5% at Tim Hortons and 6.7% at Burger King. The company also increased its dividend by 20.0%. The new annual rate of $0.48 a share yields 1.1%. Hold.
