We’re going on Facebook to serve you better

You’ve probably heard of Facebook, a “social-networking” site with more than 500 million users worldwide. Facebook was started by a group of Harvard University students in 2004. It then expanded to other schools before it was opened to anyone aged 13 and over.

Facebook: An outstanding way to keep in touch with family and friends

In just six years, Facebook has expanded way past the circle of students who started it. The site now attracts users of all ages. In fact, according to a 2009 study by Washington, D.C.-based iStrategyLabs, the number of Facebook users aged 55 and over jumped 514% in the first six months of 2009. By comparison, Facebook users between 18 and 24 years of age only rose by 5% during that time.

It’s not hard to see why Facebook appeals to seniors and the baby-boom generation. The site offers an unparalleled way to keep in touch with family and friends, including young relatives who may not be as easy to interact with through other means. As well, the site’s membership is now so large that it’s a breeze to track down old schoolmates and other long-lost friends through Facebook.

In fact, many users discover that Facebook is a great way to spend spare time, and devote a large amount of their Internet usage to the site. That’s part of the reason why we’ve launched a Facebook page for our web site, TSI Network (more on that below).

If you haven’t yet set up a Facebook account, you really should. Just go to the Facebook home page at www.facebook.com and follow the step-by-step instructions to set up your account.

As a Facebook user, you can post your own updates, photos and videos on your personal Facebook page.

Now Facebook can help you get even more out of our advice

We see the same opportunities in Facebook that many other new users do. That’s why we’ve just launched a Facebook page for our web site, TSI Network. You can view our new Facebook page — www.tsinetwork.ca/facebookby clicking here.

Through Facebook, we aim to interact with readers in a number of new ways. For instance, our Facebook page’s discussion boards give you the opportunity to share your thoughts on current financial issues with other investors, including Pat and his investment team.

Plus, if you like any articles we post on our Facebook page, you can very easily let us know, or share them with a friend (more on how to do that below). Of course, we welcome your criticisms, too.

Here’s what else you get when you follow our new Facebook page:

  • Our new free special report for Facebook followers only, “Case Study: How TSINetwork.ca Picked 5 Takeover Stocks in 11 Weeks.” When you indicate that you “like” our new Facebook page (more on that below), you can download this new free report by clicking on the “Special Report” tab at the top right of our Facebook page.
  • “What’s on Pat’s mind”: Every week, you’ll be among the first to learn what’s coming up in our four investment publications: The Successful Investor, Stock Pickers Digest, Canadian Wealth Advisor and Wall Street Stock Forecaster.
  • Advance notice of new free reports: So far, we’ve written six free reports for users of TSI Network, including: “Tax-Loss Selling: 7 Christmas Stocks That Could Give You Huge Gains in the New Year,” “Stock Market Investing Strategy: Pat McKeough’s Conservative Investing Guide for Making Money & Cutting Risk”, and “Gold Investing: 7 Profitable Strategies for Investing in Canadian Gold Stocks.”

More of these free reports are now in the works. When you follow our Facebook page, you’ll be among the first to get the opportunity to download any new free reports we release. In addition, our Facebook page’s free reports section contains all of the reports we’ve written so far, so you can easily download and act on them whenever you like.

  • The opportunity to add your comments to any articles, photos or videos we post on our Facebook page.
  • The most popular daily updates from TSI Network.

How to make the most of our new Facebook page

You can view everything we put on our Facebook page by clicking here. However, to get the most out of this new service, you need to be a member of Facebook and indicate that you “like” our page.

Once you’ve set up your account, log in and go to the TSI Network Facebook page. Then, click on the “Like” button next to the page’s title (TSI Network). It’s the square button with the “thumbs up” symbol located above the Photos tab.

You can then visit our Facebook page at any time to interact and access the articles and links that we post to the Wall. In addition, when you visit your own Facebook page, anything we post will appear in your “News Feed.” You’ll know right away when we post anything that may be important for your investments. This includes updated information and analysis of stocks you may own, or think about buying.

Easily share our new Facebook page with friends

If you enjoy what we do at TSI Network, we’d encourage you to share our Facebook page with your friends and family. You can do this in one of two ways:

  1. Log in to Facebook and go to our TSI Network page. Then click the “Suggest to Friends” link under our profile picture, located in the top-left corner of the screen. You can then select the friends you want to share the page with. When you’re finished, click the “Send Invitations” button.
  2. You can also share the page by posting it to your own Facebook “wall.” To do so, log into Facebook and go to the TSI Network page. Then, click the “Share” button in the bottom-left corner of the screen. This will bring up a box containing our TSI Network Facebook profile. You can then post it to your wall by clicking “Share.” Or you can share the page by sending it to your friends as a message. Just click “Send as a Message Instead” in the bottom-left corner of the box. You can then enter up to 20 of your friends’ Facebook names. When you’re done, click the “Send Message” button.

We hope you enjoy and profit from this expansion of our service.
