Most of Microsoft’s recent growth stems from its 2014 decision to focus on cloud-computing services. In the three months ended December 31, 2018, Microsoft’s revenue rose 12.3%, to $32.5 billion from $28.9 billion a year earlier. The company earned $8.6 billion, or $1.10 a share.
