Troymet Exploration Corp., $0.10, symbol TYE on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 87.0 million; Market cap: $8.3 million; www.troymet.com), has four very early-stage exploration properties. These include the McClarty Lake zinc/copper/gold property near Snow Lake, Manitoba. McCarty is about 45 kilometres south of HudBay Minerals’ (symbol HBM on Toronto) Chisel North and Lalor deposits. The property consists of three claims that are wholly owned by Troymet, and two claims that are 60% owned by Troymet and 40% by HudBay. HudBay is earning an additional 20% interest in these two claims by spending $750,000 on exploration by June 5, 2011. Troymet’s association with HudBay is a plus, but at this early stage of exploration, the shares have only limited investment appeal. We don’t recommend Troymet Exploration.
