Iteris Inc., $1.39, symbol ITI on New York (Shares outstanding: 34.3 million; Market cap: $47.7 million; www.iteris.com), develops technologies for managing vehicle traffic, including devices that help drivers avoid collisions. This is a growing market.
The company has three divisions: Roadway Sensors, Automotive Sensors and Transportation Systems.
In December, Iteris agreed to buy Meridian Environmental Technology for $6 million. Meridian provides 511 traveller-information hotline systems operated by many U.S. states.
Iteris trades at 11.6 times the $0.12 a share that it is forecast to earn this year.
Iteris is okay to hold, but only for highly aggressive investors.
