Silvercorp Metals, $6.75, symbol SVM on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 164.4 million; Market cap: $1.1 billion), is the largest silver producer in China. The company is operating and developing four silver/lead/zinc mines at its 77.5%-owned Ying mine camp in China’s Henan Province. Silvercorp is also applying for a permit to establish another mine in China, at its GC property in Guangdong Province. To spur further growth and diversify its operations away from China, Silvercorp recently paid $15 million for the advanced-stage silver/lead/zinc Silvertip project in northern British Columbia. In the three months ended December 31, 2009, Silvercorp’s revenue jumped 106.2%, to $31.3 million from $15.2 million. (All figures except share price and market cap in U.S. dollars.) Cash flow per share rose 140%, to $0.12 from $0.05. The company holds cash of $87.8 million, or $0.54 a share, and has no long-term debt.
