I have owned TVI Pacific for a number of years and it has recovered very little. Is there any hope for a recovery or should I sell and take my losses?

TVI Pacific, $0.12, symbol TVI on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 478.9 million; Market cap: $57.5 million), owns 40% of TVI Resource Development, its Philippine affiliate. TVI Resource Development operates the Canatuan mine in the Philippines, which contains copper, zinc, gold and silver. TVI Resource Development also controls other mineral rights in the Canatuan area. The company believes the region could contain enough additional deposits to let it expand the Canatuan mine. TVI Resource Development began full production of copper, along with gold and silver by-products, at the Canatuan mine on March 1, 2009. It is currently adding a process to extract zinc, and expects to begin zinc production at Canatuan later this year. Aside from Canatuan, TVI Resource Development is developing other precious and base-metal deposits in the Philippines. The most advanced is the Balabag gold-development project, which is about 75 kilometres east-northeast of Canatuan.
