Azure Dynamics Corp., $0.34, symbol AZD on Toronto, (Shares outstanding: 626.9 million; Market cap: $210.0 million; www.azuredynamics.com) makes parts and systems for hybrid-electric and electric vehicles . Hybrid electric vehicles use a gas or diesel engine together with an electric motor. The company also makes power-train systems for delivery vehicles and shuttle buses.
Azure’s “Balance” hybrid-electric systems are now used in the Ford E-450 commercial truck chassis. The company has also sold Balance systems to AT&T Inc., FedEx Corp., Con Edison, Inc. of New York, Purolator Courier and various government fleets.
