Orosur Mining, $1.16, symbol OMI on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 55.3 million, Market cap: $78.3 million; www.orosur.ca) produces and explores for gold in South America. In Uruguay, the company operates the San Gregorio gold mine and is developing the nearby Arenal Deeps deposit. Orosur is also developing the Pantanillo project in Chile, which contains over 1.1 million ounces of gold. In the three months ended February 28, 2011, Orosur’s revenue jumped 64.4%, to $21.6 million from $13.2 million a year earlier (all figures except share price and market cap in U.S. dollars). The company’s average realized gold price rose 23.2% in the quarter from a year earlier. Production rose 30.1%, to 16,573 ounces of gold from 12,742 ounces. Cash flow was $0.14 a share in the latest quarter, up from negative $0.02 a share a year earlier. The company benefited from the higher revenue, but also mined higher grade ore and cut its costs.
