Vendome Resources, $0.22, symbol VDR on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 37.7 million; Market cap: $8.3 million; www.vendomeresourcescorp.com), is an exploration company with three active projects in Mexico’s Sierra Madredel Sur precious metal belt. It also owns the Ivanhoe property in Ontario.
The Mexican properties have had some strong silver showings, and local small-scale miners operated a small mine on one of the sites in the 1970s and 1980s. But they are all at very early stages: the silver mineralization was found in grab samples, or rocks lying on the surface of the ground. Grab samples are the earliest stage of any exploration effort.
