Chorus Aviation, $4.26, symbol CHR.B on Toronto (Shares outstanding: 124.0 million; Market cap: $528.2 million; www.chorusaviation.ca), formally known as Jazz Air Income Fund, is Air Canada’s main regional affiliate. Chorus Aviation owns Jazz Air, Canada’s largest regional airline and the second-biggest based on fleet size and number of routes. Jazz Air and Air Canada are have a capacity purchase agreement under which Air Canada purchases nearly all of Jazz’s fleet capacity based on predetermined rates. The company operates scheduled passenger service on behalf of Air Canada, with 827 departures per weekday to 56 destinations in Canada and 28 in the U.S., using 125 aircraft. Chorus and Air Canada have linked their networks to serve connecting passengers more efficiently. In the three months ended September 30, 2012, Chorus’s revenue rose 5.8%, to $435.6 million from $411.7 million a year earlier.
