The company operates in an area with huge potential and proven oil production. Kurdistan is the most stable region of Iraq, but operating there still entails considerable political risk.
As well, WesternZagros’ exploration is in its very early stages, and the company recently said that it’s concerned it may not be able to find enough funding to continue its exploration this year.
