NORTH WEST COMPANY, $27.39, symbol NWC on Toronto, sells food and everyday products and services through 243 stores. Those locations are mainly in northern communities across Canada and Alaska. The company also operates in remote regions of Hawaii, the South Pacific and the Caribbean. North West has now added Deepak Chopra to its board of directors. Chopra is the former president and CEO of Canada Post. (Note: This Deepak Chopra is not the new age guru by the same name.) Apart from his experience leading the postal service, Chopra should bring expertise in logistics, technology and e-commerce. The former CEO will take Gary Merasty’s seat on North West’s board.
