Life Stem Genetics, $0.64, symbol LIFS on the U.S. over-the-counter bulletin board (Shares outstanding: 44.5 million; Market cap: $28.5 million; www.lifestemgenetics.com), aims to set up clinics that focus on healing patients with their own stem cells.
The company was incorporated in July 2012 under the Miami Days Corp. name. It was set up to open fast-food restaurants in Serbia that would sell traditional local cuisine.
When it was unable to implement that business plan, it bought Life Stem Genetics, a South Dakota company that aimed to provide stem cell therapy treatments. The firm changed its name to Life Stem Genetics on September 16, 2013.
Life Stem reports that it recently raised $1 million in an issue of shares to insiders at $1 each.
