NVIDIA CORP., $101.35, Nasdaq symbol NVDA, is your #1 Aggressive Buy for 2025.
The company is a leading designer of 3D-capable video chips; they make video games run more smoothly and appear more lifelike. Nvidia has also adapted its chips for other applications, including artificial intelligence (AI), datacentres and self-driving cars.
The U.S. government now requires Nvidia to obtain a license for the export of its H20 AI chips to customers in China and several other countries.
That will hurt Nvidia’s ability to fulfill its current orders for H20 chips. As a result, the company will write down the value of these chips in inventory by $5.5 billion. To put that charge in context, Nvidia earned $22.07 billion, or $0.89 a share, in its fiscal 2025 fourth quarter ended January 26, 2025.
The H20 chips, account for just 10% of the company’s total revenue. They are also much less powerful than Nvidia’s current Blackwell chips, which remain in high demand.
