For some investors, Donald Trump inspires suspicion if not a touch of distaste. That’s understandable—his demeanor can be as rough as you might expect from somebody who started his political career late in life, after decades in the corrupt, rough-and-tumble New York City construction business. Trump worked tough, long days, weeks and months, and also managed to get an Ivy League degree in Business. In contrast, career politicians—such as, say, Joe Biden or Justin Trudeau—had time to cultivate a conventionally smooth political demeanor. Like many career politicians, they both worked for decades on maintaining a favourable image. Trump focused on negotiating favourable terms, and on money-making deals and jokes that make some people uncomfortable. Trump’s business education and experience enabled him to produce exceptional business results for himself and his family and associates. His first term as U.S. President brought above-average investment results for the U.S., plus much better economic results than Joe Biden or Justin Trudeau ever achieved. Investors have asked if…
