I recently heard from an enterprising young man who I met a few years ago, when he was running a small moving business. Since then, he has taken on several additional lines of business, such as management of rental properties for clients. I suspect he’ll go a long way in years to come.
He texted me a few weeks ago to say he’s concerned about his stock portfolio, which is mainly made up of well-established, dividend-paying U.S. stocks. He said he’s uncertain about the likelihood of Trump’s potential election and he’s considering moving “all the $ out of stocks until after the election. Do you think there’s validity to this logic?”
I didn’t ask if he was worried about a loss or a win for Trump. I just texted back ‘no’.
He knew I was busy with another matter. A while later, he continued,
“What would you recommend over the short term?”
“I mean until the election.”
I was still busy, but later I texted him…
