Dorel has now completed the sale of its Sports business, which makes bicycles under several brands, to Dutch transport conglomerate Pon Holdings for $810 million U.S. (or $735 million U.S. net of taxes). The company will use $390 million U.S. of those proceeds to pay investors a special dividend of $12.00 U.S. a share. It also plans to buy back up to 7% of its outstanding class B subordinate voting shares over the next year.
