LEON’S FURNITURE LTD. $23(www.leons.ca) is a buy. The retailer gets less than 15% of its products from the U.S., which limits its risk to tariffs. It should also benefit from the “Buy Canadian” trend. As well, Leon’s still aims to set up a new real estate investment trust (REIT) that will hold its real estate assets. It then plans to hand out units in the REIT to its shareholders or sell units to the public, possibly in 2025. Leon’s is a buy. MATTR CORP. $10 (www.mattr.com)is buy for highly aggressive investors. Formerly called ShawCor Ltd. (old symbol SCL), the company makes plastic tanks and industrial products such as electrical cables and sheaths. Mattr recently acquired AmerCable Inc. for $280 million U.S. (about $404 million Canadian). Based in Arkansas, this firm makes a variety of power cables and wires for industrial customers. The new operations should increase Mattr’s revenue in 2025 by over 40% to $1.3 billion. As well, earnings will probably improve over 50% to $1.08…
